Koi Shows

Koi Shows are a lot of fun. Even if you don't like the thought of subjecting your Koi to the stresses of a show (and I am one of you) Koi shows are an important part of the hobby. This is because Koi shows allow us to see what quality Koi are available and despite ourselves, how our own Koi compare with those of the serious hobbyist.

In fact Koi shows are not in fact the sole preserve of the serious Koi hobbyist. If you don't enter your fish you will never know where they stand.

More than this though, Koi shows are a great opportunity to meet, greet and discuss Koi. There is a wealth of knowledge transfer that takes place at Koi shows with new equipment and innovations quite often a part and parcel of each and every Koi show. New ways to do things - challenging the established norms that have been proven over many years - as Chris points out on this very website! - and generally advancing the hobby to new levels of expertise and hopefully Koi that are better off as a result.
