Japanese Koi Breeders

Japan is the home of Koi. The Koi bred in Japan still have no equal anywhere in the world with Koi of breathtaking quality being produced year in and year out. The Japanese are the world masters at breeding Koi and Hannes Uys from the Cape Koi Aquarium makes regular trips over to Japan to handpick selected Koi and Tategoi to bring back to South Africa. You can order online from this website as and when Hannes is in Japan, or you can select Koi from his trips that are brought back and kept in his ponds.

Selecting a Koi 'in the flesh' is the ONLY way to ensure you have a reasonable chance of snaring the truly great Koi. Pictures are one thing - and Hannes' photographic skills quite another, but his eye for choosing Koi is one that you can trust as far as it is possible for any single person to try and select great Koi, in what after all is said and done, is little more than a lottery and random chance.

The Japanese Koi breeders that Hannes will be visiting during his regular trips to Japan are listed below, along with their speciality varieties of Koi. Hannes is the chap to pick out that show winner and from the hundreds that he brings back every year, a few are destined for great things.

So, the more you buy...

e-Mail Hannes here with your requests for particular Koi that you are interested in, or even if you just want Hannes to pick you a Koi that he thinks may have some potential (remember that there are no guarantees, but that good breeding does ensure you have a far better chance at getting that special Koi of your dreams).
